Articles of Association

 

TITLE ONE

GENERAL PROVISIONS

Article 1. Name.

A foundation, of a teaching, research and cultural nation, on a nationwide scale, in constituted under the name FUNDACIÓN INSTITUTO EUROÁRABE DE EDUCACIÓN Y FORMACIÓN (EURO-ARAB INSTITUTE FOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING FOUNDATION), to fulfil its foundational goals pursuant ti the present Articles of Association, with the Ministry of Education, Solcial Policy and Sport (hereinafter the “Ministry of Education”) as the Overseeing Body. Therefore, any future mention of the Ministry of Education shall be understood as referring to the Ministry which, alt the time, is responsible for education.

Article 2. Legal personality and capacity.

Once the Foundation has been entered into the Register, it shall have its own legal personality for the fulfilment of its goals and full legal capacity.

Article 3. Registered office.

The registered office of the Foundation shall be in the building located at Cárcel Baja, 3, in the city of Granada. The Governing Board may agree to set up delegations anywhere in Spain or abroad, giving due accpunt thereof to the Ministry of Education, and may also withdraw them.

Article 4. Duration

The Foundation is intended to be permanent. Nevertheless, if at any time it were considered that the Foundation’s goals had been achieved or become impossible to fulfil, or if any of the reasons set out in Article 31 of Act 50/2002 were to occur, the Governing Board may agree ti terminate it pursuant to legislation and the Articles of Association.

Article 5. Regulatory framework.

The Foundation shall be governed according to the intentions set out in its, Statutes, to these Articles of Association, to the provisions which, in interpretation of said intentions, have been established by the Foundation’s Governing Board and approved by the Ministry of Education, and according to the applicable legal regulatory provisions in force.

 

TITLE TWO

PURPOSE, AIMS AND ACTIVITIES

Article 6. Purpose and aims of the Foundation

The purpose of the EURO-ARAB INSTITUTE FOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING FOUNDATION is the promotion of cultural and economic relations between Spain and the Arab world, through training and the dissemindation of scientific, technical and humanistic knowledge originating in Universities and other educational centres, both form Spain and other countries. In order to do so, it may promote the organization of training courses and programmes, studies and research, and forums for exhibitions, discussions and debates. The main goal of the Foundation shall be to promote practical training in public – and, eventually, private – management, with particular attention to priority areas in development, the management of public services, and good governance in the Arab world.

Article 7. Activities.

The activities of the EURO-ARAB INSTITUTE FOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING FOUNDATION shall be, among others, the following:

  1. Organizing and designing courses, training programmes, research, seminars, conferences and other analogous activities related to the Foundation’s goals.
  2. Promoting and contributing to the training of specialists in the various fields of applied knowledge that are most useful for the development of the Arab States, mainly focused on the perspective of optimizing management methods.
  3. Promoting and contributing to the training on experts form businesses and non-governmental organizations, be they European or specifically Spanish, that promote or participate in cooperation projects in the Arab world.
  4. Collaborating and creating strategic alliances with different bodies – public and private, Spanish and non-Spanish – to implement and develop all activities that coincide with the Foundation’s goal.
  5. Contributing to the development of Arab countries through the organization and design of training programmes and initiatives in the fields of good governance, social policies and development cooperation.
  6. Fostering dialogue, the sharing of ideas and experiences, and collaboration among Arab, Spanish and other European academics and scientists.
